We, responsible citizens of the Philippines, whose signatures appear in this petition, want the Senate, through its Committee on Ethics and Privilege to sanction Senator Vicente Sotto III for plagiarizing works of several bloggers on his turno en contra speech delivered Aug 13 and 15.

The Senate's integrity should always be safe-guarded as the body represents the popular opinion of the public. As such, any member who tarnishes the Senate's integrity should be penalized based on the gravity of the act done. We firmly believe that such act raises a question on the Senator's integrity, and to the Senate's integrity as a whole.

We believe that plagiarism is an unpardonable act of dishonesty especially if the act is being done by a public official.

We believe that Senator Sotto should not get away with these acts. The Senate should investigate on this serious matter before the integrity of the entire body crumbles.

Reaching one thousand signatures serves as a quiet reminder that many people hold the Senate to a high standard of conduct. I appreciate the time each of you took to acknowledge that integrity in public office is not an optional trait.

Fix this. Plagiarism is stealing no matter who you are. The senate needs to take a stand instead of protecting their own.

Dishonesty at the highest level. You are a senator not a student trying to pass a paper. Very disappointing.

This man has no shame. He stole someone else's hard work and tried to pass it off as his own. Unbelievable!!!
