We, the citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, hereby petition to the government of the Republic of the Philippines to make into law the freedom of information bill.
We, the citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, are the boss of these officials sitting in public office. We provide the finances to the government necessitating its existence. The funds that should be use for housing, infrastructure, health and education should be monitored. In the same way that a chief executive officer of his own company monitors the company's budget and transaction, we the citizen asked that there should be an implementation of freedom of information bill as this will make the officers serving the citizenry accountable and limiting possible misappropriation of funds.
In response to the prolific controversy of corruption and the current allegation of Pork Barrel Scam, today is the right time that there should be an enactment of the Freedom of Information bill.
This right hinges on the bill of right of the citizens provided in the 1987 Constitution;
Article 3 Section 7. The right of the people to information on matters of public concern shall be recognized. Access to official records, and to documents and papers pertaining to official acts, transactions, or decisions, as well as to government research data used as basis for policy development, shall be afforded the citizen, subject to such limitations as may be provided by law.
Thus, we know how our funds are being use and that we have a voice in this government.
YES, WE KNOW OUR GOVERNMENT!
