Ronny James Dio (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010) was one of the most loved and influential voices in metal and music as a whole. His music touched the minds and hearts of several generations of metal fans. And he was also known for his peaceful offstage demeanor, and his kindness. The goal of this petition is to have a statue erected in his memory, in the town of his birth, Portsmouth NH. I envision a statue in Prescott Park, gazing out over the water, surrounded by flowers. The statue would not only be a fitting memorial to an incredible individual, but would also become a place of patronage for metal fans all over the country, bringing in more revenue for the bustling seacoast town.
