THIS PETITION IS TO SAVE THE OLD NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN DOWNTOWN DUNN WITH NO TAX INCREASE You must be a registered voter to sign!!!! The city is threatening to destroy a historically significant building. The old National Guard armory in downtown Dunn was were many local soldiers got their start. It was later used as the gym for local schools and later, a recreation center. Petion to grant to Harnett Historical Association (HHA) stewardship or proprietership. HHA will preserve and revatalize it into a conference and expo center. There will be a section dedicated to Dunn High School Alumnus and to REMEMBER the SACRIFICES AND COMMITMENT of our LOCAL members of the armed forces. This will be better for the environment with less waste into the landfills. Downtown STORES will also benefit by the INCREASED PEDESTRIAN traffic during events. CITIZENS of Dunn will benefit by NO TAX INCREASE and a LOCAL VENUE for events and shows.
