The shortening of custodial sentences for those convicted of serious crime has brought us to a point where people no longer have sufficient reason to be afraid of being caught. Even when convicted they know that the chances of them actually remaining in prison for their full sentence are very small. Prisoners also have all manner of facilities available to them whilst incarcerated, making their "punishment" much less of an ordeal and more of a holiday.
It is time for the lengthening of prison terms and a reduction of facilities in order to let them know that they are there to pay for their crimes properly.
To all those thinking of embarking on a life of crime a message must be sent ... long prison terms await them!

Finally someone said it. These criminals get treated better than the people they robbed. Keep them locked up for the full time and stop the soft treatment.
