The following persons and organizations hereby respectfully request that Gov. David Paterson exercise his executive authority under the New York State Constitution and the New York Executive Law to unconditionally and fully pardon John White, a person of African ancestry, for convictions of manslaughter in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree on December 22, 2007 in Suffolk County Court for the death of Daniel Cicciaro, a member of a white mob who trespassed on White’s residence threatening to rape his wife and to kill him and his family.
John White and his family have already suffered exorbitant and irreversible trial and appellate costs in addition to immeasurable pain and suffering. No appellate action can undo the harm of these wrongful convictions.

Two hundred and fifty people have signed this and honestly I did not think we would get this far when I first sat down to write it (my hands were shaking so much back then). It feels like things are finally actually moving and I have been sitting here reading the comments for an hour just trying to process why it took so long for people to see what is happening to John.

I have been going through the comments today and the sheer weight of what everyone is saying is just overwhelming. It feels like the legal system just stopped looking at the human side of this whole mess a long time ago but we are trying to fix that with every single name added. I am currently working on a letter to send directly to the office because silence is not an option anymore and honestly I refuse to let this get buried.

The momentum is finally starting to build up and honestly my heart is pounding just watching the counter climb toward that first hundred mark (I really hope we get there by tonight because it feels like people are finally starting to listen). Please just get this in front of anyone who will actually pay attention because if we hit this milestone now the pressure on the governor will be impossible for them to ignore.

THIS IS WRONG. A man should be allowed to defend his kids. Pardon him now!
Self defense is a basic right. Why is he even in there? Ridiculous.
The man was protecting his family in his own home. Absolute joke he got jail time for that.
Justice for John White. He should be home with his family not locked up.
