The strike has ended and the union has agreed to terms that exclude binding arbitration. Council has confirmed that service will resume immediately while we move to verify that the new contract mandates strict oversight of overtime spending. Your signatures provided the necessary pressure to push this resolution forward.

This is a petition against Ken Wilson and the ATU 508, who are currently holding the public of HRM hostage with their ridiculous strike and unreasonable demands for their sub-par service. Anyone who signs this petition believes that binding arbitration is NOT the answer. We are taking a stand against union bullies who have stranded thousands of people, picked on the disabled and want to continue abusing the public purse with unchecked overtime.

***UPDATE***: The striking transit union has now put public safety at risk by disgracefully holding up the salt trucks and snow plows in hopes of "drumming up support from other areas of the city". That's ten minutes longer for ambulances, firetrucks and cop cars to arrive at the scene of an emergency. Show Ken Wilson and his goons that WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED.

We are approaching 500 signatures. I am preparing a formal brief for the city council detailing how these transit blockades compromise public safety. Send this link to your contacts right now to ensure we hit that milestone before the delivery of these documents.

Enough is enough. My wife missed two days of work because of this mess. Get them back to driving.
