After 27 years of entertaining audiences in Norwich, the Puppet Theatre has recently learned that its support from Arts Council England is under review, with a strong possibility that it will not be renewed after its current funding comes to an end in April 2008. This could bring about the closure of this unique Norwich landmark and the end of: * Internationally-acclaimed performances of its own productions for adults, families and children * Performances by visiting companies * Its hugely-popular and over-subscribed children's puppet-making workshops * The only City & Guilds accredited course in puppet-making in the country * Performances and puppet-making workshops in schools * A venue which provides a platform for many other theatre and music groups * The Norwich International Festival of Puppet Theatre If you agree that this would be a tragic loss for the City of Norwich and the world of puppetry and would like to demonstrate your support for the Puppet Theatre, please sign this petition.

Caroline Hart, United Kingdom7 years ago Comments: As a Single mother on a very low income I really struggled to see these shows when my son was little but I did when ever we could and they came to tour in our city, and we did without other things, because they were so magical and vital to a child
