Final supporters
700,000 students attend secondary school in Ontario every year. This year, for 3-6 weeks 72,000 students were out of class. Due to the strikes that took place, the students that missed class will not have to write exams. While life isn't always fair, since roughly 10% of students don't have to write exams, the other students shouldn't have to. This is especially the case for senior students, who have probably already been accepted to the college or university of their choice and need to maintain a specific average in order to attend post-secondary school next year.
What happens if the student who got no time off, worked hard all year, and has one bad exam gets their acceptance revoked? Does that spot go to the student who has worked less, got time off, but because they did not have to write exams, has the necessary average to go to school next year?
If you think this scenario is unfair then sign the petition. This is a very real possibility for students within the next month so let's try and apply what we've been taught and fight for equality.

I believe this has not only effected the public school district but also the catholic school bored because students where disappointed because of two different standards. This is why I am signing this petition for no exams for schools in Ontario.
As controversial as the topic may be i agree that making some kids take exams while others get by without it at fault of the teachers, its not fair that the rest of us can still have our marks go down dramatically from an exam and they get by free
I agree with the petition fully. The situation was out if the students control, so, in the spirit of equal opportunity and fair treatment, I believe that all students in the boards affected by the striking teachers should not be required to write exams.
catholic school board students worked so hard and they need to write an exam for their high school diploma, but public school students were at home came back to school, dont need to write an exam but they still get a diploma!! Not fair! No exams at all!!!
We are all competing to get into the same university! It is unfair that certain high school boards do not have to do it because the teachers went on strike ! If those students do no have to do it, all high school students shouldn't have to do it !
Agree with everything that was stated. I personally find it disheartening when I work hard for a good mark and then exams bring them down.
All students should have to write answers on exams we did in school so why should it be any different. I did still went to college just

This is not fair. I wouldn't mind writing exams, however his year i have had the worst teachers ever that did not teach the class a single thing, it's just the same as having teachers not come to school because they are absent in the classroom anyway!!
