The Petition

We would like to start a petition regarding Bill 115, a new
legislation that freezes teacher’s wages for two years, cuts sick days in half (and
ends their ability to band sick days) and band striking for two years. This
petition defends the constitutional rights of teachers. This is a petition that
has been started by the student body of Stephen Lewis Secondary School in
Vaughan, Ontario. By signing this petition, this means that Bill 115 should be
retracted. We believe that our teacher’s rights should not be compromised for
financial or political reasons. We all agreed that we need extra-curricular
activities and will not stand for political non-sense. Many student come to
school and want to be a part of something special, it could mean joining sport
teams or simply joining a club. We are not asking for something irrational, all
we are asking for is teachers rights that can provide us with an enjoyable high
school experience. We student are directly affected and we will not stand by
and watch as our activities along with our teachers rights are revoked by Bill
115.  Some of us students are in their
last year of high school and we should have the right to get a full high school
experience. What is school without extra-curricular. WHO’S IN? LET’S MAKE A
DIFFERENCE AND STAND FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE IN!!!!!!
