The proposed state budget freezes for two years all major long term care programs except nursing homes, which are more expensive than in-home care. This includes Family Care, IRIS, Partnership, PACE, and the Children’s Waivers. Older adults, and children and adults with disabilities will go without essential services unless this cap is lifted. The cap will not save money because it will lead to an increased use of expensive and preventable institutional care. Lifting the cap on community services means people with disabilities and older adults can stay in their homes and maintain their independence.
We, the undersigned, ask state legislators to lift the cap on community long term care services because they are more cost effective than institutions and better for people. Keep the community promise: remember - there’s no place like home!

I am truly humbled by the attention this is getting and I never expected so many people to care about keeping our neighbors in their homes. We are nearly at one hundred signatures and reaching that total would show the legislators that our community is paying attention. Thank you for giving this effort a life far beyond anything I imagined.

my brother needs these services to stay home. stop making his life harder because of a budget issue.
just let them live at home. my aunt relies on this help and if it goes away I dont know what she will do.
common sense says keeping people home is cheaper than a nursing home so why are they freezing it? wake up.
THIS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG. Pushing people into nursing homes when they could be independent is a nightmare for everyone involved.
I work in this field and see the struggle every day. folks deserve to stay in their own living rooms not forced into a facility.

I am Andrew Ray Piotrowski Sr and have no memory of ever signing this petition and wish to have my name removed at once!
