Join the voices of working families, older adults, people with disabilities and everyone who cares about the health of Wisconsin communities and our economy by joining this petition to oppose threats to Wisconsin’s Medicaid programs.
After the "budget repair bill" was passed at least 63,000 Wisconsinites are at risk of losing the basic health insurance they currently have. Folks who rely on SeniorCare, FamilyCare, children’s waivers and other vital Medicaid programs could lose health benefits as critical decisions about cost-sharing, benefits and eligibility have been moved behind closed doors. The Department of Health Services (DHS) is now allowed to supersede existing state laws that ensure families have access to basic health care in Wisconsin and that support older adults and persons with disabilities. More importantly, the new law severely limits the ability for the public to have input in the changes to rules on these critical Medicaid programs with one person having the power to eliminate health care services and limit the ability for thousands of individuals to access BadgerCare with limited the legislative oversight.
