The boat is back in the water but the two-mile limit keeps our rescue team from doing their real work. I am meeting with local officials this week to demand the full coverage area be restored. Post this link on your Facebook page and email your local council representative to keep the pressure on.

If the MCA have impounded a boat for going to the rescue of a drowningw child, They must now test any craft that goes to the rescue of someone in destress. nd that craft must now be impounded if it fails the "tests". Following from this, the MCA, must now introduce mandatory testing of all and any craft that could be used to rescue someone in distress as required by Regulation 33 of SOLAS. Failure to do so will, (not could), result in a person in charge going to the rescue of a casualty when their craft does not meet MCA safety codes for rescue craft.
is the mca fit for purpose? is the rnli in on the confiscation of a competitor's rescue boat? this is quite unbelievable.
This is crazy, it is a general purpose boat used by volunteers for rescues when a fast & local response is needed. The RNLI are excellent, but cannot possibly respond as quickly to incidents at Hope Cove as the local boat can.
Absolute madness. These volunteers are the only ones on site when minutes count. The bureaucrats in London dont have a clue what it is like down here.
2 miles is useless. If someone is in trouble outside that tiny zone do they just let them drown? fix this now.
Time to get shot of these pathetic beaurocrats. A blight on society.
