Absolute shame. Went there for panto every year as a kid and still do now. Sort it out.
This place is the heart of Hackney. My family has been going to shows here for generations. Please dont let it disappear.
The empire is basically the only good thing about the area. Need to find the money somewhere else not by gutting our culture.
Too many venues are getting shut down these days. We seriously need to save this theatre before it is just another block of flats.
KEEP IT OPEN. Hackney wont be the same without it.

Ridiculous that they would close it down for so long. The community needs the Empire to stay open its iconic.
