We, the undersigned, support the GMB campaign to deliver a homeworkers allowance. We expect that allowance to fairly reflect the extra costs incurred by homeworkers in the pursuit of ATL business. This allowance should cover a contribution to: 1. Maintenance (cleaning, decorating, wear and tear) 2. Utilities (power, heating, light) 3. Provision of space (office, storage)

Janet Clampit, United Kingdom5 years ago Comments: Agree that a homeworkers' allowance which reflects more realistically the expenses that ATL homeworkers pay out in order to undertake ATL business in their own homes should be paid.
Sue Wilson, United Kingdom5 years ago Comments: I have had my garden summer house converted into a dedicated ATL office including the laying on of electricity with all the necessary expenses involved. I am now unable to use it for anything else other than work. During winter, as it is detached from the house, the heating bills are higher than if it was a room in our home. It is a wooden structure which needs yearly maintenance in order to keep it weatherproof. The allowance would help with all the costs involved.
