Children are not born with a manual and parents are not perfect, so this is the reason we must all educate ourselves on how to become better parents. Parents who educate themselves on how to become role models for there children can ultimately teach children how to become confident, well spoken, well disciplined individuals. We have all heard that saying "it takes a village to raise a child" and that saying stands true today. We as parents must first realize that our children need to be praised, listened to and taught on there different developmental abilities. Not all children are the same so raising a child takes different techniques and approaches to help them with there social skills and behaviors. Corporal punishment has never been the answer but some parents have never learned any other way to discipline their children so I hope that by signing this petition we all agree to allow "Effective Parenting" to become a part of our society. This petion will be sent out to the President, and Members of Congress to encourage them to take practical steps in making parenting education national, state and local priorities.

Thanks for your time,
