Please join the many citizens of Lynn who support The Food Project, a vital resource for teaching our children about food, health, and working the land. The Food Project is also the source of our local produce at our farmer's market and in our CSA shares. The Food Project has been a key part of the Downtown Lynn revival and they need your support now more than ever. Their lease for their garden at the Ingalls School is up for a vote at Thursday, October 28th's  School Committee Meeting. Show your support and urge the school committee to renew the lease at Ingalls School by signing this petition.

UPDATE 11/1 - On October 28th, The School Committee voted to table this and move it to a future meeting so that they could have appropriate time to review all materials presented to them. This will come back up in November and the petition will be resubmitted to them at that time.

Updates

October 29, 2010

The School Committee requested additional documentation regarding the land use agreement before the next hearing. I am currently preparing these files with the legal team to ensure all operational requirements are clarified before the proposal goes back up for a vote.

The volume of support for this petition has gained the attention of the School Committee office. I am finalizing a formal briefing document to deliver to each member before they reconvene on this lease agreement.

So much wasted space in this city but they want to take away the one spot that actually produces something useful?? ridiculous.

THEY NEED TO RENEW THIS LEASE ASAP. The fresh food is a lifesaver for people in the city who cant get to a real grocery store.

This project is the best thing happening in Lynn right now. Dont shut it down just because of red tape.

Keep the garden at Ingalls. It teaches the kids about hard work and eating healthy. Seems like a no brainer to me.
