We the undersigned vow to vote against our sitting MHK's at the next election if this measure is allowed to occur. This petition is for Manx residents and voters ONLY.
I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to defend our tramway. If we can reach that hundred mark before the next council discussion, it will show them exactly how many of us are watching.

I made strong representations (in writing) in favour of retaining the Horse Tramway during both the public consultation and public enquiry into the overall Promenade scheme, citing, amongst other points, the very important heritage aspect.

"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts."- Aristotle. Yes the Horse Tram itself may run at a loss but it is part of the rich fabric and heritage that makes the Isle of Man. I ask the council to reconsider and reverse their decision!

It seems to me that this stinks of getting rid of heritage for the sake of it. I can't help myself from believing this was sacrificed for the sake of the prom redevelopment. I can hardly wait until the freedom of information act comes in.

The Island cannot continue to lose its tourist attractions. The hidden benefits of continuing to run the tram system has been overlooked in the decision to axe it.Should it be the Douglas ratepayers or the islands tax payers footing the bill?

The Horse Trams are not just a means of transport or important tourist attraction, they are a part of Manx Culture and Living History and as such should be preserved for the pleasure and interest of this generation and those that follow.

Just out of interest, can the MHK`s be voted out? May have been asked already. My parents took their family on the Trams, I took my young family on the trams, and my children should be able to take their family on the trams. Shame on you.
