The emails I keep getting from people who actually know Jon are just heart wrenching because it really shows how much the local paper means to the town. I am still waiting to hear back from the bosses at Johnston Press but honestly the silence from them is starting to feel like a very deliberate choice.

I just looked at the count and we are almost at a hundred which is honestly wild because if we hit that mark we can actually force them to look at our list instead of just ignoring the inbox I swear. If everyone just grabs their phone and texts a local friend right now we might cross that line before the end of the day or even sooner if people are quick about it.

Ridiculous decision. The man is actually growing the business while everyone else is failing. Corporate greed at its finest.
TERRIBLE IDEA. Jon is the best editor weve had in years. Stop cutting costs and ruining good papers.
The whitby gazette is a staple of our community and jon is the reason it still feels like a local paper. Dont make this mistake.
