Remember Dish Network's International Music Feed channel?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Music_Feed
IMF was one of the last music channels that actually played MUSIC instead of idiotic Reality TV shows, and not only was IMF all music - all the time, but they played music from every country, of every genre. I personally watched the channel for Japanese Music and came to know artists such as ANCAFE, Acid Android, and Hyde through this channel while stuck visiting relation in Ohio. When I got back to the West Coast, I didn't have Dish but I still frequented the IMF Message Boards and their Youtube channel.
On July 18th, 2007 a thread was started by their web staff, announcing that a recurring music block would be launched featuring "a collection of music from Japan, including J-Rock and J-Pop," as a promotion for the upcoming show, IMF aired the "J-Rock Feed" segment which contained interviews with artists and fans from the J-Rock Revolution festival in Los Angeles. The actual show, referred to by staffer "imf_journey" as the "J Show" was planned to premier sometime in either October or November. Sadly, the IMF channel was abruptly bought out and replaced with "Ovation TV," so the planned segment focusing entirely on Japanese music never saw light of day.

how much you miss International Music Feed!

I started this because I genuinely missed those late nights watching music videos that you could not find anywhere else. It is overwhelming to see so many of you here who remember that same feeling. I am working on organizing my notes to reach out to the right people so thank you for sticking with me while I figure out the next step.

I truly never imagined that so many people missed the International Music Feed as much as I do. Seeing this kind of response makes me realize that music fans were always looking for the quality programming we lost. You all have proven that we still care about real music discovery.

BRING IT BACK!! I discovered so many bands on there that I still listen to today. Ovation is trash compared to what we lost.

I miss IMF so much. Used to leave it on all day just to hear new stuff from around the world. Now it is just repeats of the same shows on every channel.

Still mad about this. It was the best channel for jrock and world music. Real music tv is basically dead now.

I miss the J-Rock block so much. Why does everything good get cancelled for reality tv filler?
