This petition is now closed, as the main objective - to return the children to the family - has been achieved.

In 7 days we collected 167 signatures - thanks to anyone who signed.

Recap: Sagarika and Anurup Bhattacharya had their two little children TAKEN AWAY from them by Norweigian child services. The case has received a lot of international press (Mail Online, Times of India, NDTV.com, Al Arabyia, etc. - links to the articles are on the right hand side of this page), because the decision to take their little children away was based on cultural differences: Sagarika and Anurup cared for their little ones according to Indian culture - they fed their babies by hand and co-slept, which is normal in Indian society... and nothing wrong with that!!

On 25/01/12, it was announced that the DECISION has been made to give custody of the children to Anrup's brother. He is coming next week to collect children and then they will all return to India.

We wish them all the best in the future. Unfortunately, they are probably not going to remember Norway as the most friendly place.
