Petition Outline:

We believe that the issue of gambling is best decided by an informed and educational process leading up to a neutrally worded referendum question on the issues. We call on the Government to return to its commitment to a referendum on gambling.

Action Petitioned:

We, the undersigned, registered voters of Bermuda, hereby petition the Premier and the Government of Bermuda to hold a referendum on the legalization of casino gambling in Bermuda, using a neutral question ‘do you support the legalization of casino gambling in Bermuda?’

As a citizen of Bermuda I am also a representative for Jesus Christ and it will be devastating if we allow gambling to be condoned which will affect the family structure even more.

Isn't it ironic that the argument for gaming is to improve our hospitality product and a basic principle of hospitality is to make people feel like they matter and give them what you promised to give them?

It's one thing to break an election promise (par for the course), but to back track on the ONE major issue that was promised to be brought to the public is unacceptable, and sets a dangerous precedent.

I do not support casino gambling in Bermuda. Allowing gambling will have a serious social impact on our tiny island. Please give ALL the people of Bermuda a say in this decision.

I believe a neutrally worded referendum is the best method of determining the voice of the people on this issue. The OBA government has lost a lot of credibility in withdrawing the referendum.

I support the legalization of casino gambling in Bermuda, but I firmly believe the issue should be decided in a referendum using a neutrally worded question. This is the only fair and reasonable way for Bermuda to decide this important issue.

A referendum on gambling is so important that it was a campaign promise. A promise that needs to be kept. IMHO
