Hello, my name is Brooke Adams, and I would like to share a story with you about Bailey, a loved dogs, tragic death because groomers left him where it was too hot for too long with no water. PLEASE SIGN MY PETITION!!! ITS DEEPLY APRRICAITED!!

Bailey's Story: Really close friends of my family lost their perfectly healthy dog Friday, due to a mortifying situation. Friday, at 10 am they took their dog Bailey to the groomer "K9 corner" in Whitman, and received a call at 1 pm, stating that their dog wasn't breathing.

We are not sure where they left him whether it was in a small crate, outside in the hot sun, or a small hot room. However, we do know that bailey was left in a high temperature room for 3+ hours, with no water, before they realized Bailey was not breathing. The owner then called saying, "you might want to come get your dog, he's having trouble breathing breathing." Bailey was suffering a severe heat stroke. When he arrived at the animal hospital, he was unresponsive, with a high temperature of 108 degrees, his temperature was so high that it couldn't show it on the thermometer Bailey was also blind. It took many ice packs, and cold water to bring his temperature down to 104 degrees. The vets did everything possible for Bailey, but at this point there was nothing they could do, his brain and other organs were already shutting down, he was in a coma, and the damage was already done, he was suffering miserably. Bailey then started having non stop seizes, and the medicine was not helping him. Bailey's family had to make the hardest decision, and let him go.

This place did not provide the McNeil family with reliable, trustworthy care for their amazing dog. No one expects to drop their dog off to the groomers then go back, and find out their dog is not breathing, and he is suffering heat stroke. This place needs to be held accountable for their horrible actions. Bailey deserves justice for what those terrible people did to him, and The McNeil family deserves justice, and closure for what this place did to their perfectly healthy dog.

Then when the groomer facility was questioned by reporters, the lady speaking couldn't show her face, and said "there was no way he died because of a heat stroke, he had a bacterial infection." Bailey was just at the doctors a little while ago and they would have seen any symptoms of a virus, infection, or etc. I just hope she knows there will be an autopsy that will show what killed him.

Bottom line of this story, was they has an amazing, playful, YOUNG, happy dog Friday morning, and due to K9 corners carelessness, and cruelty of letting a Bernese Mountain dog, with long fur suffer in this wicked humid and extremely hot weather we had Friday, 5/27/16 for 3 hours with NO water, they no longer have Bailey.

If this business owner was educated about the business they were running, they would know that if a dog was suffering from heat stroke, spraying cold water on him would have helped bring his temperature down, and maybe he would have had a chance of surviving.

NO dog should ever have to feel the pain and miser that Bailey did. This is not just for bailey, but for all the other helpless dogs, and all the pet owners that don't know, your leaving your dogs life in these uncertified, most of the time just dog lovers that say there professionals hands!!

This is pure negligence on the part of the groomers, I'm trying to create a law to regulate that groomers must be licensed to be in business, and to have their facilities regulated to make sure it's safe for any dog.

By you signing my petition, I am one step closer to establishing justice for Bailey, and every other dog/dog owner out there, that are unaware of what may happen, and unaware that groomers DO NOT need a license to groom dogs, its a hobby, or interest.

If you have questions, I would be more then happy to answer them, if you would like to leave one below that fine, or if its a bit more personal my email is...
