The following people support a continuous police presence during the school year on Avenue Road between Eglinton and Lawrence. We also would like some solutions to the \'problematic curves\' in the road north of Allenby P.S. These measures would rectify the present, unacceptably dangerous, situation and avoid inevitable future accidents involving the children and adults who walk Avenue Road to get to school.

Colette Kim, Canada5 years ago Comments: Re Community Meeting Oct. 22nd 2009: I was very pleased by how seriously the traffic problems on Avenue Rd. have been taken and by the amount of time and effort the City, partcularly Karen Stintz, Rob Decleir, Sgt. Dale Carter, and their teams have put in to help address the problems. Keep up the good work - Thank you!!!
MaryRose Ebos, Canada6 years ago Comments: My daughter attends Allenby and is in JK, however, we live beside Marshall McLuhan HS. It is distressing to see the volume of traffic and students on Avenue, the proximity of the sidewalk (west side of avenue) to the street and the non-existence of a cross-walk for both the HS and Allenby students. The reality is the students get off the 61 bus and immediately cross avenue. They do not go to the Roselawn intersection. Perhaps huge white letters with some diagonal stripes on Avenue road marking a "school zone" from St. Clements all the way to the south side of the H.S. would be "loud" enough to remind drivers to be careful. while driving through that section of Avenue road.
