1. We, the collective body of students from various departments at Ziauddin university, are deeply concerned about the welfare and humane treatment of stray animals on our campus. Over recent months, there have been reports of incidents involving mistreatment and neglect of these animals by both staff and students. As advocates for animal welfare, we believe it is our responsibility to take action and ensure that these animals are treated with compassion and respect.

Therefore, we hereby petition the administration of Ziauddin university to implement the following measures to improve the welfare of stray animals on campus.

1. Implementation of TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) Program:

We urge the university to implement a comprehensive TNVR program to control the population of stray animals on campus. This program would involve trapping, neutering, vaccinating, and returning stray animals to their original locations. By controlling the population in a humane manner, we can prevent further suffering and ensure the well-being of these animals.

2. Placement of Food Bowls Away from Cafeteria:

We request that food bowls for stray animals be placed away from the cafeteria and other dining areas on campus. This will help prevent disturbances and conflicts between animals and students while ensuring that the animals have access to food in a safe and secluded area.

3. Proper Disposal of Discarded Food:

It is imperative that proper measures are taken to dispose of discarded food waste in a responsible manner. Food waste left in open areas can attract stray animals to the cafeteria and other dining facilities, leading to potential health hazards and safety concerns. We urge the university to implement a system for the proper disposal of food waste to mitigate this issue.

4. Installation of Fences in Areas without Walls:

To prevent overpopulation of stray animals and ensure the safety of both animals and students, we request the installation of fences in areas of the university premises where no walls are present. This will help contain the stray animal population within designated areas and prevent them from wandering into academic buildings and other high-traffic areas.

In conclusion, we, the undersigned students of Ziauddin university, strongly urge the administration to take immediate action to address the concerns outlined in this petition. We believe that by implementing these measures, we can create a safer and more humane environment for both humans and animals on our campus.
