On January 1, 2017, the northwest portion of Cobb County (Georgia) Commission District 3 will move into District 2. Since the current Commissioner for District 3 seems to support rezoning petitions in this transition area that will create very dense development, current property owners in this area are rushing to get their property rezoned before the end of 2016. As evidenced by the last such rezoning petition in this area, which was opposed by over 900 nearby homeowners, the current District 3 Commissioner seems willing to ignore the wishes of the people living in this area, perhaps because we will no longer be able to vote for or against her in any future Cobb County Commission election.

Therefore, since it appears that those of us living in this transition area are now subject to "rezoning without representation", we should demand that there be no more rezoning of property in this portion of District 3 until January, 2017. This Moratorium would only require a five month delay for land owners seeking rezoning, after which these matters can be addressed by our newly elected Commissioner for District 2.

If you want zoning matters near you to be addressed by your future Commissioner instead of your "lame duck" Commissioner, you need to sign this Zoning Moratorium petition.
