I respectfully request City of Eugene Athletics allow 'zone' defensive play in the Ultimate league without restriction. I understand the reasons for the existing rule prohibiting zone D that requires the unanimous consent of players attending. I find the reasons outweighed by the benefit to the whole in allowing zone D. Most if not all players have learned other sports where they started out with a zone defense (e.g., soccer). Additionally, some players who have gained multi-season experience in the league have little idea of how to play zone D because of the current rule. The current zone D rule should be removed.
