We the undersigned call on Cornwall County Council to adopt the new legislation reclassifying lap-dancing clubs as part of the commercial sex industry.

We also call on County Council to set a cap of Zero in all areas that it has jurisdiction over. In Newquay this would be the Central Ward which encompasses the area where  the 4 lap-dancing licenses are currently valid.   

This is a unique opportunity for Newquay/Cornwall to promote itself as a world class tourist destination that does not support the commercial sex industry in the buying and selling of women on it's high streets.

This is also in line with the Council's Gender Equality Duty.

Please note that if you sign the petition simply in order to comment in support of  lap-dancing in Newquay, your signature will count as being against lap-dancing in Newquay.  So by all means object to this petition but your signature will be sent to the council along with all the others.
