Zero Tolerance on the Abuse of Hare Krishna Children

Dear Prabhus, Here is the link to the video in case you haven't seen it yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvlRAyM3p4Q I was very impressed with Sanaka Rsi Prabhu (16 minute mark) and the young devotee woman (17:05 minute mark) who both displayed extraordinary bravery and presence of mind in their respective challenges to the speaker. I nominate both of these courageous Prabhus to be the new managers of the ISKCON Child Protection Office. All glories to their service -- and to all the unsung heroic gurukulis -- past, present and future.

I was a dedicated member of Iskcon from 1977 to 1987. During that time I witnessed rape, physical violence and abuse of women by male leaders, physical violence and abuse of children. I witnessed and experienced rape, bullying, punitive and mean undue punishments against women who protested or contested institutionalized sexism and violence and despite the benefits of a contemplative practice that I loved and believed in i sustained exposure to and rebeled constantly inside my heart and mind with my own innate wisdom that recognized the existence and collusion of institutionalized abusive emotional social sexism and the systematic support of physical control of women and children in ISKCON. Women were denigrated below men and children denigrated below women systematically, philosophically and daily, supported by an entrenched old boys network. I myself experienced rape, sexual bullying, coersion, emotional abuse, isolation and punishment and shaming and punitive measures when I spoke against or acted to report sexism, physical and emotional abuse, supported the equality of women or reported illegal activities within ISKCON perpetuated by spiritual heads of administration and philosophy. When my son was two I decided that I knew that I could not continue to live in that community or have my son grow up in the patriarchal sexist ISKCON schools and culture. It is my belief that unless the victims of abuse and parents and men and women who have witnessed and experienced abuse - emotional, physical, sexual - report to legal and social agencies outside of ISKCON, pursue collective and individual lawsuits again and again - there will be no change. Look at the entrenched history of sexual abuse in the Catholic church - its is still globally denied, covered up, dismissed and avoided by an entrenched and committed patriarchal old boys network - the phenomenon of which has been amply proven, deconstructed and analyzed and researched. Please go to youtube and search for Cost of Silence and watch the video. If you don't want to help protect the children after that, you will surely be paying the cost of silence. I would suggest that grhasthas fund the position so that it has true autonomy. Also I found some blanket statements in your video, some communities have put in sincere efforts for their child protection teams with legal procedures in place. Also I found using footage and pictures of our children without their or their parents permission not really acceptable and not in line with your endeavors. Thank you for your intentions. My heartfelt apologies to each one of you that suffered and we failed in protecting. Naivity in this case came at a horrific price. I ask all to wholeheartedly sign this petition in recognition of how critical it is to identify and respond appropriately to abuse of anykind in Srila Prabhupada's sacred movement. Policies and procedures need to be in place to identify anyone with a history of abuse intending to position themselves in a communal situation. Let us learn from past gross injustices. It happened to me it needs to stop. People need police checks to work with children.

These criminals should be severely punished. All children should be protected and cared for.

I will have zero tolerance for abuse in prabhupads iskcon, coz Iam a victem myself of this abuse from vrindavan gurukula, and I don't want my kids to face it, Iam growing up my kid in this society,
