What is a criminal actions should also be charged as such. On less this is done all over the world in all ISKCON centers, ISKCON will be just like the catholic church...and everyone will hate such an organisation! See this years Oscar winning film "Spotlight" it you doubt that. Child protection is the most essential principle of kindness in all cultures. And any kind of abuse should never be tolerated. Speak up if you are a parent, child or friend to anyone abused...two wrongs does not make a right here!

All ISKCON Leaders must be above all suspicion as per Srila Prabhupada. What to speak of committing or assisting in committing criminal acts. There should be zero tolerance for those hurting children, women, cows and all those in weak positions.

It is a shame on ISKCON society that they protect, harbor and give prestige to child molestors, predators, and guru's who are sexually active... They are ruining everything that Prabhupada tirelessly worked so hard to achieve. The demons are within the movement, and THEY MUST BE REMOVED - at all costs... It is long overdue that this happened, anyone protecting these ' guru's ' and pedophiles are responsible and karmically involved in the after life. Demand they be removed from positions, and banned from all temples - they are child predators - just like you can't change a gay person into a straight person, you cannot change the sexual preference of a person who is sexually turned on by a child. It is sheer evil!

What has occurred has no reflection on Srila Prabhupada and the message of Krishna Consciousness as presented by Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada and his teaching came in disciplic-succession. The teachings did not and do not advocate in any way, these type of abominable actions or parent absenteeism. Teachings are there to become God Conscious. The Individuals and Perpetrators, of these ungodly acts are accountable, they are under Material Influence and their Senses, driven by Lust. These perpetrators are not Krishna Consciousness, but simply making a 'show of it', they are 'power crazy' and think they are 'untouchable' or can 'hide'. The truth will always prevail.

As someone who wants to be a teacher sending years of my life in University to be qualified to do so, it's appalling how degraded leaders and a system can be. After watching The Cost of Silence, I never want to teach in these schools, I want nothing to do with an organization that goes against everything they believe in by supporting corrupt leaders and it blows my mind that this is still happening at present. I hope there is change, these kids are our future, these are our kids, they deserve a life full of love and faith. MM

Zero tolerance with abusers but first let's also clearly define what abuse is. Sometimes disciplining could be misinterpreted as abuse.

I do not in any way shape or form condone child abuse but certainly would expect higher standards in ISKCON

It is an abomination that child abuse occurs in ISKCON (and even worse that some of the leadership of ISKCON wish to sweep it under the rug). ISKCON is supposed to be a model for the world. How can it be when ISKCON cannot clean its own act up? I would strongly discourage any parent from placing their children under ISKCON's care until this matter is resolved.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but have any GBCs, temple presidents or any other ISKCON managers/leaders signed this petition yet? Complicit silence regarding criminal activity is a crime in itself, and very telling regarding this particular petition. If no legal action is taken, this petition will quickly sink below the depths of internet chatter. Yet, legal action initiated by the victims of abuse can result in the perpetrators and complicit friends practising their word-jugglery from behind bars and away from children. The course of action for the victims, although unpalatable and possibly very distressing, is yours to make. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and the real Vaishnavas.

Thank you & well done. All children should be protected at all times, & child abusers should not go unpunished. A child's well being is more important than the fear of bad publicity, or the protection of paedophiles. Hare Krsna.

How can anyone pretend to go preaching while endangering the most vulnerable vaishnavas that are growing within the movement... It's like putting makeup on a leprosy affected body...

This is totally inacceptable and painful for Srila Prabhupada and the vaisnavas. Children should be encouraged to speak up the least déviance. Hare Krsna
