On November 25, in celebration of the Legend of Zelda franchise's 25th Anniversary, Nintendo is releasing a special edition Nintendo 3DS(a handheld gaming console that supports 3D effects without glasses) bundled with a carrying case and copy of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. The 3DS is Nintendo's "cosmic black" color, emblazoned with a full Hyrulian Triforce on the front. Bordering the front is a regal golden lace adorned with the Ocarina of Time and Zelda's Harp. The ABXY and Power buttons along with the 3D slider have been altered to fit into the gold color scheme. Currently, Nintendo has not stated any plans to release the bundle in America, despite the mass market that would be eager to purchase copies. As it is, sales of the 3DS are low and a bundle such as this would greatly encourage sales. Importing the special 3DS is not an option, because the Nintendo 3DS is region locked- unable to play games from a different continent then the handheld. Not only would importing the bundle cost much more then an American release, American gamers would need to import the European compatible games to actually use their device. This action would alter Nintendo's American sales statistics and their view of the American market while also hindering gamers from enjoying American 3DS games upon release. Simply put, importing does more harm then good. The point of this petition is to convince Nintendo that there are just as many (if not more) American gamers who would purchase the bundle as the European gamers. The intended result is Nintendo's official release of the bundle (Special edition 3DS + Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D + Carrying Case) in America.
