Zebra crossings for HSSC students

Children’s safety should be everyone’s first priority

Something needs to be done before a child is killed, it's ridiculous at school hours!!

My daughter has just started at the high school. There is no safe place to cross O'Brien's rd or Highfields rd to safely walk home down Kratzke rd. Please fix this now before we have a fatality.

This should of been put in place when the school was built. Just ridiculous.

Definitely need some safe crossings at the public schools in highfields

It is not good enough for the TRC to put off vital infrastructure development like this - holding out to pass the cost on to someone undertaking a development to shift the direct cost. Safe crossings for school kids on these major roads is a community priority - the TRC needs to listen and act now.

Highfields road is in desperate need of a crossing to help school kids cross near Highfields hub. Kids and adults have to play chicken to cross the road before and after school. Only one side of the road has a full footpath to ride bikes along Highfields road too... hope there are plans to build a complete path at some point on the other side.

Agreed. This intersection is so dangerous. Makes me nervous the amount of kids having to run across when there is the slightest break in traffic. Something needs to change and quickly.

So needed at the High school and on highfeilds rd near the hub and childcare centre for both High school children and the prmairy before someone is killed.

I regularly see children from this school taking chances crossing both O’Brien and Highfields roads. There is no choice for them, there is nowhere safe to cross.

I have 2 at the school and have seen so many near misses with kids crossing the road. Definitely require a safe crossing zone.

A zebra crossing should have been implemented when the school first opened. It is only a matter of time before there is an incident.

Thanks for pushing this crucial agenda! This absolutely needs to be addressed right now to avoid an inevitable tragedy! There have been terrible incidents at other schools in the area and near misses here already ! Denying responsibility is unacceptable by any and all concerned stake holders
