Zebra Crossing outside St Thomas Becket Primary School

St Thomas Becket is a state school and should be entitled to the same safety measures as other schools in the borough. I find it appalling that the council has decided that the children of this school do not qualify for a safe crossing as Birchanger Road is a very busy cut through for local traffic. Some drivers are considerate and careful around the school gates but many drivers are busy and impatient and drive far too quickly along the road. It is the councils job to protect pedestrians, especially children with the correct road safety measures. St Thomas becket currently has no road safety measures outside the school gates and I feel the council is acting in a highly irresponsible mannor by denying the children of this school safety measures to cross the road.

The speed at which cars career off Woodside Green is extremely alarming - I don't currently have confidence that the kids are safe in this environment and it seems common sense to take steps to improve this

A zebra crossing could be built directly outside the main gate which would result in no further parking spaces being lost.

A crossing patrol person is essential for St Thomas Becket School. Birchanger Rd is lethal - cars are parked on both sides making visibility poor plus it's a very busy road with many drivers failing to acknowledge that there's primary school there and consequently driving far faster than is safe. Please reinstate our crossing patrol officer! Thank you

I would like to have a safer crossing for all the children and adults outside of St Thomas Becket.
