We, the students, families, and community members of Clawson, believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, safety, and respect. No matter a person's background, identity, or circumstances, basic human rights are not privileges, they are promises that should be protected for everyone.

Today, we speak out because far too many individuals continue to experience discrimination, injustice, and unequal treatment. Whether it's inequitable access to education and housing, mistreatment based on race or gender, or the negation of safety and freedom, these ills do not only affect faraway places; they affect people in our own communities.

We call on local leaders, schools, and community organizations to do the following by signing this petition:

Provide equal opportunities to every student and resident, without exception.

Educate our community on human rights, inclusion, and fairness.

Create safe spaces where individuals feel comfortable enough to report cases of discrimination or abuse.

Advocate for policies that protect the vulnerable and create opportunities for all.

Hold institutions accountable when human rights are violated.

We are signing, not just because we care about the future, but because we want to help shape it. Real change begins when everyday people speak up, students, teachers, neighbors, and families. Together, we can build a community that truly lives up to the values of fairness, equality, and justice.
