When an injustice becomes so great that people of conscience can no longer tolerate it, non-violent civil disobedience can be our only alternative. The PASA people's right to peaceably assemble and eat lunch in the Zambezi Conference Room and to petition the Sudan Desk for a redress of grievances is one of the most important freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution's Bill of Rights. The right to freedom of association and a nice place to eat lunch is a bedrock requirement of a functioning democracy. Without this right, the people lose one of the best tools for making their views known to those who hold power and are stuck in the other lousy windowless conference room.
