This is a petition to lower the prices of the school bus passes of Ysgol David Hughes. Payment is required for students who get the school bus and live within 3 miles of the school. Parents who have children in the school of the years 7 - 11 are required to pay around £108 a year whereas for Sixth Form students are required to pay £120 for the whole year, even though some will be driving and will not be in school for the whole year due to study leave/exams, as well as year 11. Over the past few years, some students living in certain areas have been paying 20p if they didn’t have bus passes and it wasn’t an issue at all, and has recently become a big issue. Recently, some students of the school have been told by bus drivers that they will not accept 20p and if they don’t have bus passes soon, they will not be allowed on the bus to and from school at all, resulting in pupils finding their own way to school which could be walking on dangerous roads that are considered “safe” by the council.
