YouTube thinks they can gatekeep our creativity behind arbitrary rules while ignoring the people who actually build their platform. Their silence is a pathetic attempt to wait us out but we are not going anywhere.

I completely agree! 500 subs for to change your URL? Im a small youtube trying to make vids but my account still has the old URL i dont want!
These qualifications really dishearten me. Websites like Facebook and Soundcloud allow for custom url's yet Youtube doesn't? It doesn't make any sense, and I sincerely hope that this policy changes. I implore anyone reading this comment to sign and share. It'd mean a lot to me. If this petition doesn't work then it'd be disadvantageous to up-and-coming Youtubers everywhere.
i want to START my channel with an individual name!
How are we supposed to get 500 subscribers without a custom URL.
Things are always getting worse !
i have other channels with their own URL, now i have to wait for my new one to get to 500 before i can make it look profoundly professional, this is some serious bullshit
YouTube isn't what it was a couple years ago, it's just fucked up now.

The entire concept of having to have 500 subscribers to get a URL is a bit of an oxymoron. How are the channels that need it the most supposed to grow in the first place?
