Youth Wages is currently a system where workers under 21 are payed based on their age. This occurs irregardless of experience, and is a sanctioned form of age-discrimination. After the age of 18 workers should be recognised as equal under the law, however the age based pay system continues to affect adults
This petition aims to abolish this practice in the state of NSW for all adults. Anyone over the age of 18 will be paid the same for their work, and the pay scale will be based on experience.
This issue is something that is currently being debated in the community, with various groups such as Young Labor campaining for the abolishment of Youth Wages. This particular petition will be presented at the YMCA NSW Youth Parliament if it recieves enough signatures.

EXPLOITATION. plain and simple. keep this up.
Equal pay for equal work. If you are old enough to pay taxes and vote you should be earning a full wage. Simple.
My son works his butt off at his job and the pay difference is a joke. Needs to change now.
About time! I have bills to pay just like everyone else. My age doesnt change how hard I work.
Ridiculous that I did the exact same work as my coworker but got paid way less just because I was 19. Totally unfair.

The experience argument is a cover for cheap labor. Pay people for what they produce not how many birthdays theyve had.
