The Southampton Balloon Festival ran for over 15 years attracting visitors from all over the country. It brought trade and entertainment to the city, providing a great spectacle for those on the ground and breathtaking views for those that flew in the balloons. Our challenge, as a group and as a community is to bring it back bigger and better than it was in its heyday. Can you imagine the sight of the balloons with their multi-coloured silks inflated by the roar of the gas flames, the many stalls and stands offering their wares, steel pans or local bands playing in a separate area, animal and motorbike shows in a central arena, the noise of the fun fair rides, the tempting smells from the various food and drink tents, displays by local colleges and schools. What about a 'Southamptons Got Talent' competition It could be amazing again. But we need your help to achieve this. Please sign the petition to help reinstate this event.
