I refuse to let me child take a bus at that young age especially for that long of a ride. If this change happens I will have 4 kids in different schools which is ridiculous when I have a elementary school in my back yard practically.

I believe more time should be taken to look at long-term & comprehensive solutions for the district as a whole, including grades 6-12, before any changes are implemented; instead of the phased approach. I also believe there are still questions to be answers *before* the district commits to a specific configuration change. If the K-1 option is chosen, what will happen to the children in K the year before implementation? Is the district comfortable with those young children being in one school for K, having to change to another school for 1st when this goes into effect, and changing again for 2nd? Three building transitions in the first 3 years of school (and often 4 for those who also attended Pre-K). That should be figured out before a decision is made, not after. Also, with the K-1 option, long-term, when the K-1 buildings reach capacity, there will be a need for *two* new buildings if the district wants to maintain the configuration of one K-1 building feeding into one 2-5 or 6 building. Has that been considered & discussed? There seems to be many unanswered questions and scenarios not thoroughly reviewed. I recognize that the current configuration is not ideal and will need change but I believe more time is needed before that change is decided on and implemented. The rush to 'get ahead' of the problems may just cause more problems. I have already shared my thoughts with the committee & board as to why I personally do not believe Opt 1 nor 2 is the best solution. I hope time will be taken to thoroughly consider if there are other ways to address the issues.

I am not sure many adults know the language and bahavior that is taking place on the bus as it is now. forcing young children out of their home school forces them to be exposed to such behavior. i believe another option can be put in place to accomodate pre k and K instead of moving ALL established students now.

I know I am not comfortable with my daughter being on a bus for 40-60 minutes when we are five minutes away from Yorkville Grade school! She will be starting kindergarten in 2016 and hearing the options being considering has seriously had me wanting to look into private schools!
Why would you make bigger problems than needed? Kick the kids out from other cities, don't make a 3 year old sit on a bus for 40 mins for 3hrs of school, listen to your community, and don't forget who pays your salary!

It was clarified at the 4/1/15 town hall meeting that there is the POSSIBILITY that current home schools will be changed for ALL students once Micro Neighborhoods are assigned. For example, GRES may no longer be the school that ANY of my children attend if my Micro Neighborhood gets assigned to BBES or ACES. This is no longer simply an issue about Pre-K through 1st Graders but an issues about all elementary students. This was not clear to me until yesterday evening despite having attend the previous night's meeting, reading through all the material and meeting minutes, taking the survey and watching the presentations.
In addition, it was clarified that the school assignments reflected in Option 2 ARE NOT actually confirmed.

The best way to show your support to delay a decision on this issue is to attend the April 13th, 7 p.m. Board of Education Meeting at Yorkville Middle School. There is strength in numbers and we need to make a statement at this meeting.
