IHSA Respects Cheer as a Sport, Why Doesn't York HS
The IHSA-sanctioned sport of Cheerleading has changed greatly in the last five years, breaking traditional stereotypes to become one of the most demanding, athletic and ultimately dangerous sports in High School athletics. The athletes of the York Cheer Program have worked hard to earn the respect of their fellow athletes and their community, only to face the unfair policies and practices of an athletic administration that refuses to take it seriously. While as a community, we cannot address all the issues that have lead to York Cheers current status, we can demand of our administration that they hire an experienced, credentialed, and highly qualified head coach. The York administration has gone through 8 coaches in 4 years. The cycle must STOP! Let your voice be heard.
