I've been a ymca member for decades and only went sporadically to the Y until I found Bodyflow. I love that class. It has helped me get my butt to the YMCA and has helped me to greatly improve my physical condition, The class you replaced it with does not compare!

This is my main source of working out. If body flow is taken away my family will probably leave the gym and won't be able to afford more expensive gyms that have classes that don't even compare to this one.

Dear YMCA, it is a huge mistake to let go of the Les Mills program. BodyFlow is a life changing program. & I plan to give you many examples of how it has changed my life. You need to listen to what the members are saying and keep Les Mills. Keep Body Flow!!

Listen to your members, we want Les Mills. We don't need schedules on flat screen TVs, paper was fine. Sub-par classes are not.

I've been doing Les Mills BodyStep & BodyPump since the mid-late 90's and it's the sole reason I joined the Y. The Y's family orientation and the Les Mills classes are what will keep me at the Y with so many existing and new gyms in the area to choose from!

I've done my research into the alternative program MOSSA and have compared the level of training and experience at the program developer level and there is no comparison.
The Les Mills classes need to stay with the YMCA. The current program focuses on the individual and the entire mind - body experience.

I am a competitive nordic ski racer and participating in BodyPump has benefitted my race performance. Determined to give Group Power a chance, I went to one session at Midway YMCA. It provided neither the muscle fatigue nor the cardio to which I look forward to during each BodyPump class. I felt like each track crammed in too many activities, many of which challenged my balance and flexibility, but did little for my overall strength. I have ceased attending this YMCA location all together because of the lack of BodyPump. I will not renew my membership if all YMCAs do away with it. For a time-crunched athlete it is priceless.

It has been one year since our last BodyFlow class in the old YMCA building. I recall writing on the wall my Midway YMCA story: a story about a woman who moved alone to Minnesota and found a community at the Y. Minda, the instructor, and the other class members were so kind and welcoming to me as I tried to find a place where I belonged. Having come from a YMCA branch in Michigan, one of the first things I did when I arrived was join the Y. I came from a brand-new, shiny YMCA in west Michigan. As I'm sure you recall, the old Midway was anything but. Despite my disappointment in the facility, it was the people who kept me coming back: diverse, generous, kind. Once a month we would have a post-Flow breakfast where we would have coffee and snacks and chat. I made many new friends in that classroom.
Tears were shed by many as we turned the lights off in the group ex classroom for the last time. I remember writing on the wall, "It's at the edge where you grow." This is a lesson I carry in my heart from Minda and Flow - seemingly about balance, but about taking risks as well. Moving to Minnesota alone was a risk, one that caused me to grow. My Flow community was there for me when I got my heart broken, while I struggled to finish my dissertation proposal, when I missed my family.
We weren't super excited to make the move to the temporary space, but we knew that it meant a shiny new home that we would call our forever home in just a few months. We all stuck together out at the temporary space, keeping our community together. We were so excited when we heard that we would get to move into our new space early. And then we received the news that BodyFlow would not be making the move with us to the new Midway YMCA.
I have sent you several emails about why I feel like Centergy is bad from an exercise perspective; I write today to appeal to you from an emotional one. Last night I heard that one of the very best teachers I've had made the decision to leave Midway YMCA

Body Pump and Body Flow are the reason that I work out at the Y and not the LA Fitness down the street (which is cheaper, btw.) The MOSSA classes are not equivalent.

I was a member at the YMCA about nine or 10 years ago. I left, not because I was unhappy with the YMCA, but because there was a closer more convenient club that cost less. I missed body flow and body pump so much that I returned to the YMCA. I have now been a member at the YMCA since 2007 or 2008. If body flow and body pump leave the YMCA, I probably will too. I love those classes. The two of them along with some cardio class have kept me fit well into my 50s. My job is very physical and my fitness is a priority to me. I would be very disappointed to have body flow replaced by a fitness yoga class. That sort of classe is a dime a dozen at any other club. Body flow is truly unique.

I am currently on medical leave from the Y (as a member), recovering from a recent illness. Body Flow was my main reason for belonging to the Y and would be my reason for coming back after recovery. I would have to seriously consider retaining my membership were I not able to take Body Flow classes anymore. They are great and the most important part of my participation is due to the INSTRUCTORS. They are great and I want to keep them! Please reinstitute the Les Mills classes at the Y!
