Ultimately the religious argument doesn't hold weight on multiple fronts...
1) Not everyone shares Christian sentiments... And I have never been a big fan of implementing policy solely based on a religious based ideology.
2). Sunday is not technically the Sabbath of the Old Testament.
3). Even the law of Moses didn't prohibit the drinking of alcohol (unless you took a Nazarite vow),
4). 1800 years of church history did not view drinking alcohol a sin,
5). There are no New Testament teachings against alcohol drinking nor selling on any day.
6). This is a prime example of putting traditions of men on the same level as scripture (something Jesus had dire warnings against)

Imagine how much more money it would bring businesses in town. People just go out of town on Sunday to get it anyway from any of the surrounding towns.
