On Monday, July 17 at 6:30pm a public forum will be held in front of the Cynthiana City Commission at the Harrison County Extension Office at 668 New Lair Road. This petition SUPPORTS Sunday alcohol sales in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Attendance at this meeting is VERY important in order to show the commission the majority of Cynthiana residents support Sunday alcohol sales!
Cynthiana should always strive to grow as a community. Allowing Sunday alcohol sales will greatly contribute to growth. Sunday alcohol sales will encourage new businesses to come to Cynthiana and will bring more tax dollars to the city, which will in turn allow the city to spend more money on making Cynthiana a better place to live - such as fixing sidewalks, fixing streets, school programs, tourism events, etc.
It is unconstitutional for any government entity to tell its citizens they cannot drink alcohol on Sundays. In a free country, each citizen should be granted the right to make their own choice as to whether or not they want to drink alcohol on Sunday.
Claiming that allowing alcohol sales on all other days of the week should be enough, is not an opinion any government entity should use as a guide when making a decision for a larger population. By using this opinion as a guide when making a decision on Sunday alcohol sales, the government entity is taking the right of choice away from the population it governs.

We need to keep our money local. Instead, people are driving to Georgetown and Falmouth. That's just silly, people are going to do what they want regardless, we might as well stay local.
I'm tired of driving to Falmouth when we want wine with Sunday dinner !! This would be wonderful !
Recently moved back to Harrison County. I think this is a great idea! Cynthiana is beautiful and would make a great town for some cute brunch mimosa places
The citizens of Cynthiana should be able to make their own decision on this matter. If you want to buy alcohol, that is your choice. If you don't, that is your choice.
While I'm not a resident but a business owner- I am for passing this. If people make their own decision to drink on Sundays- they will get it one way or another- passing on their $ to another town...drinking and driving further to get it or get home....( which we do not approve of)-- keep the $ here- the business here- the safety net here--
It is time for Cynthiana to wake up and quit being oppressed by the local backward religious groups.
It's my right to choose, we don't live in a theocracy

I'm for it. Also after reading a statement in the paper at the city council meeting someone stated "The Sabbath day is a holy day and let's kept it that way." Okay first off, alcohol sales on Sunday does not hinder keeping the day a holy day. Also Jesus drank wine, and turned water to wine. And third a church i attended in Cynthiana served wine for communion. Just thought I'd put that out there
