I'd love our community to have facilities that will allow our children to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the dark months (Oct - March).

Benefits: community opportunity to provide avenue for the growth and development of healthy, active kids who learn to play as a team. Including cooperation, sharing and supporting each other.

This would be good for Bainbridge. Let's do it!

I'm all for it. We need the lights to allow the kids to play after 4:30 in the fall and winter.

I am all for more fields. Scheduling for our soccer matches is tight, and it seems the schools are reducing our use of their fields. We need another option, and this seems like a great place to put some lights too.

Lets help this town move ahead with Central Park, and lets not forget to include sports fields and lights. Our last, best opportunity. JT

I support the construction of lighted ball fields, so that children may train and play games in the evening.

The fields we have at the high school, Battle Point, Strawberry, and Sands are booked all the time; the community needs and deserves more recreational fields for youth and adults

we desperately need youth sports complex closer to town - my son has to take an over-crowded bus to battle field, his team has been turned away from the bus bc there are too many kids on the bus. It would be great for his team to be able to walk to practice!

PLEASE put lighted sports fields at the Sakai Property. Having it centrally located will cut down on traffic.

Hi David - Thanks for chiming in - it is great to get support from a former Bainbridge Island Coach an all around soccer legend! Very much appreciated!

HI Jill, I know baseball is in the final phase of establishing a really nice home on Weaver Road supported by the Rotary. I am really excited for them however my thinking was that a center island home, near the schools for soccer, lacrosse and football makes a ton of sense. I would definitely think baseball should be in the consideration set though.

Hello, David DErrico here, former Captain of the USMNT, 1st round draft pick for the Seattle Sounders and dear friend of Ballan Campeau, soccer coach on Bainbridge Island FC . I will be visiting from Dallas, Texas and working with Ballan and his club on Bainbridge Island and the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony for Sigi Schmidt, Kasey Kaller and my former teammate Glenn, Mooch, Mynerick, Oct. 1-5th. I would love to see the children, parents and coaches have a soccer-sports specific training facility to help keep BI's children and families fit and happy for the future. I can be reached at [email protected] for further support. Best Wishes, David DErrico

The Parks Dept will be organizing a community oriented process in November to decide what to do with this property. We must be very strongly represented.
