Whenever I have guests from Montreal, knowing that Montrealers are very proud of their mountain park, I tell them about the wilderness found in Toronto ravines. Montreal's natural beauty is there for all to see; Toronto's ravines are below street level and partly hidden. The Rosedale Ravine from Mount Pleasant Cemetery has flora, fauna, and nature's beauty hidden from the street and parts of it give no sense of the city around. Truly an asset to treasure.

We cannot let this excellent resource deteriorate. There are also some zones where erosion has increased the chance that someone will be injured - "fall over the cliff"

These ravines add so much to the lives of Torontonians. The two ravine systems closest to downtown, the ones straddling Mount Pleasant south of Heath, are among the most beautiful in Toronto and deserve to be protected. But they have clearly been neglected. Stairs to the ravines have been out of commission for months and in some cases years. The effects of erosion are manifest. There was public consultation three or so years ago about how the ravines can be improved. Nothing appears to have come of it. Clearly the most important thing is to keep the ravines viable. I don't pretend to know what can be done, but I do hope somebody in the municipal government is paying close attention.

This ravine (and all its paths) is a key, grounding joy in my life and in so many other Toronto lives. I am so proud to share it with visitors -- an idyll of calm and natural beauty right smack in the middle of the city, and a key connector to the rest of the ravine system. VERY worth the tender loving TRCA care required to remediate it.

saving all of our urban area park lands, ravines and green spaces is what defines us as a city striving for utopia. I use this ravine throughout the entire year - sun, rain, and snow - its a wonderland within the city. Let's work to preserve it.

The area continues it's steady decline - closed access points, walkways & incomplete repairs - especially given patterns of urban intensification and associated use. Such an accessible natural space, so close to Yonge & St. Clair, is irreplaceable.

I live near the ravine and am reluctant to use it for enjoyable walk with the deterioration of the walls and the hazardous path.
