Prescribing Clinical Competency 

We have created this site to see how many of the 4th years feel that they do not agree with the way our prescribing competency was performed. Many of the colleagues we have spoken to will have to re-sit at least one aspect of the competency, which we believe is a result of inadequate preparation and teaching on the outcomes of the competency. 

We are hoping that in a professional capacity, this petition will give more weight to the feedback we want to give to the medical school with regards to our dissatisfaction on 

1. the timing of the competency - perhaps it would be better in 5th year?
   
2. the preparation we had for the competency - 1/3rd of the year had not had the teaching on prescribing that is timetabled during the oncology and palliative care pathway, at the time of the competency. 
3. The feedback we have received is disputable and does not give clarity on the exact errors or how to have corrected them.
4. The time given for correct documentation and calculation was unrealistic and would be dangerous if put into practice.
