the school office finally gave us the green light so we can officially wear our jackets whenever we want. im seriously so happy we pulled this off and hope everyone enjoys wearing them every single day now.

Final supporters
The year 12 students of 2022 should be allowed to wear their senior jackets every day of the school week. We as a cohort believe that due to the high cost of the jackets they should be used more frequently. As this is our last year of schooling, we each have spent a lot of money getting to this point and having the small privilege of wearing the senior jacket every day would be very much appreciated by each and everyone one of us.

Maybe this can be the schools first step out of the 1950s. First the uniform, next the misogyny
If we're paying so much money for it we might as well get some use out of it. Wearing it one day per week isn't worth it
Just let us wear them!! They look way better than the formal uniform anyway and we paid for them ourselves
We spend around $80 for jackets that are supposed to identify us as the graduating year yet we only get to realistically wear it once a week for two terms.
Honestly what is the point of paying for a jacket we cant even wear. Kinda annoying honestly

The year 12 Jackets are something special. As far as I thought, they were something for the grade which brings about their memories of their final year of schooling. However, these memories have been limited to 1 day a week for 2 terms, which is detrimental to the purpose of these jackets (mentioned above). But I believe that the board has a different view to the purpose of the Year 12 Jackets. Although they were indeed something to hold memories by, they were more to find a distinction from the Year 11 and 12's. This use would be further fulfilled if these Jackets were worn throughout the week. The main argument against allowing weekly use for the Jackets is that they are too informal. The reasoning behind this is that we would prefer a high-class look (blazers) over the Jackets, as this would make us 'look better' and therefore bring in more families to our school. Also, having blazers satisfies parents who are spending so much on the school fees and would like their students to look good. This is rather ridiculous, as they are paying over what the school charges on normal school fees to buy the blazer, which isn't cheap at all. But the reason why parent's still buy the blazers is because THEY GET USED OFTEN. the amount of use the blazers get for the price IS WORTH THE MONEY. Here's some statistics: With the average blazer being worn for 2 years, and 4 days a week for 38 weeks (the amount of weeks in 4 winter terms), you get a usage of 152 days. With a price of $185, you get a usage/price of $1.22 for every day that you use the blazer. Compare this to the Jacket, you get to wear it for 1 day per week, and since the class of 2021 acquired them in week 4, they have 25 weeks left to wear them. They get a total of 25 days to wear, compared to their price of 110, parents must pay $4.40 EVERY DAY THAT THEY ARE WORN. Without a doubt, this shows us that this jacket is NOT worth the money for the amount of usage. This is silly, and logically doesn't make sense. However, if

it's absolutely ridiculous that we as senior students have spend a high absurd amount on a jacket that we can only wear for 1 day a week and most of the student leave at the start of lunch. This jacket is supposed to be something special we get to take home to remind us of our journey at wccs. During year 12 we only are at school for the first 3 terms, jackets were handed out half way through the term causing student to miss out on valuable wear time. The jackets look very nice and suit the uniform. The jacket represents the school logo and name just as much if not more than the school blazer. The jacket should be used and worn not left barley used.
