We, the undersigned, object to the Extra Care Home proposed for 2 Cresswell Close, Yarnton Green (Cherwell DC Planning Application 10/01302/F) on the following grounds: 1. 12 on-site parking spaces, plus 1 disabled space, is nowhere near enough for a Home that could accommodate up to 140 residents & guests capable of independent living (many capable of driving, largely mobile, & free to come & go), plus up to 20 full-time & part-time staff, plus visiting medical professionals - plus unknown numbers of visitors to the on-site, public-access restaurant, hairdresser's, conference rooms & medical clinics - & there is NO available off-site parking in the rest of Cresswell Close or in the surrounding area; 2. Cresswell Close has single track access & fully allocated parking that is barely adequate for existing residents' traffic & parking requirements, & is mostly pedestrianized, & it is likely to become dangerously congested if the Extra Care Home is built, causing conflicts & accidents (especially involving children playing in pedestrianized areas), delaying, or even preventing, emergency & large vehicle (e.g. bin lorries, delivery lorries) access, & tying down significant Police resources as a result; 3. The population density of properties on Cresswell Close is already over twice that of London, & abnormally high for an English (or, indeed, European) village. The Extra Care Home would push the population density at least 50% higher, to Third World levels; (For more information, see http://yarntongreen.wordpress.com/yarnton-green-site-plan/extra-care-scheme/). We demand, therefore, that Cherwell DC reject Planning Application 10/01302/F & any subsequent, similar application for the same site.
