Please make a fourth "X-Men" film
Mr. Tom Rothman and Mrs. Lauren Shuler Donner c/o Fox Studios P.O. Box 900 Beverly Hills, CA 90213 We, the fans, would like to see a fourth "X-Men" movie made. Most "X-Men" fans were disappointed by what had happened in "X-Men: The Last Stand" and with "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", in which many fans felt that the characters were mishandled, there was a lack of character development, and that too much time was focused on action and special effects than a good screenplay. While several spin-off films and prequels are being developed - including an "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" sequel, "X-Men: First Class", a "Deadpool" film and possibly a "Gambit" film - we would like to see a fourth "X-Men" film just as much, please. Director Bryan Singer recently expressed interest in directing another "X-Men" film. If possible, we would like to see him back as the film's director instead of "X-Men: The Last Stand" director Brett Ratner, please. Several cast members from "X-Men: The Last Stand" had already signed on for sequels, such as Kelsey Grammer (Beast) and Ben Foster (Angel). We would like to see both actors back and fans would like to see both characters get larger roles in another film. Various cast members who currently have not signed on for another "X-Men" movie have also expressed interest in reprising their roles, including Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier), Halle Berry (Storm), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Aaron Stanford (Pyro), and Anna Paquin (Rogue). If possible, we'd like to see the same actors return to reprise their roles instead of recasting the characters. Also, Hugh Jackman would naturally have to reprise his role as Logan/Wolverine. There are several cast members who had signed on for more than one "X-Men" film, such as Tyler Mane (Sabretooth) and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), but they have not been in another "X-Men" film since they appeared in "X-Men" and "X2", respectively. There are several characters who appeared in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" that fans would like to see in a fourth "X-Men" film, such as Gambit and White Queen. Since Gambit and White Queen would now be 15 years older or so than they were in "Wolverine", new actors would be needed to play the roles. Finally, there are several characters from the X-Men comics who have not appeared yet in any X-Men films that fans would like to see in another X-Men film, such as Bishop, Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse. While we'd like to see a few new characters, again, we wouldn't want to see too many new characters introduced. There are several other things that fans would love to see more of in a fourth "X-Men", such as more of Iceman's ice form and finally using his ice slide, more of Daniel Cudmore as Peter Rasputin/Colossus, more of Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, showcasing more of the X-Men training in the Danger Room, and possibly turning Angel into Archangel at some point. Many fans would also love to see Cyclops return for a fourth "X-Men", even if actress Famke Janssen doesn't return as Jean Grey. While Cyclops was killed off-screen in "X-Men: The Last Stand", actor James Marsden had mentioned in an interview that he doesn't believe Cyclops really died and that he would like to reprise the role in another "X-Men" film. Many fans remain livid by Cyclops's off-screen death and were disappointed by his small supporting role in the three "X-Men" films. However, we would like to see Cyclops's optic blasts not generate heat, as they mistakenly did in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Fans would also like to see the "cured" mutants of "X-Men: The Last Stand" - Mystique, Magneto and Rogue, respectively - get their powers back somehow, even if Magneto isn't the main villain again. Many fans would love to see Rogue finally in battle in a fourth "X-Men". Actress Anna Paquin recently said in an interview that she would like to see Rogue finally fight in an "X-Men" film, since she did not in the previous three movies, and fans would love to see Rogue finally fighting. There are also many fans that would love to see Rogue somehow get the powers and memories of Miss Marvel (super-strength, flight and invulnerability, respectively). Even if the character Miss Marvel isn't introduced, then surely the writers could come up with another way for Rogue to get Miss Marvel's powers. If there is a fourth "X-Men" film, we would like for it to have the more realistic, darker tone of the first two films instead of what was done with Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand". We would also like to have a stronger story, more character development for both returning and new characters, and have Cyclops back in the role of the team leader instead of having Wolverine lead the X-Men. To many fans, the resurrection and/or return of Cyclops and giving the "cured" mutants their powers back would please those fans that remain upset over what had happened in "X-Men: The Last Stand". If Gambit is in "X-Men 4", we would like to see the Gambit and Rogue relationship introduced, as fans have been split to the Rogue and Iceman relationship seen in the films. While many fans have their own ideas of what should be in another "X-Men" film, every X-Men fan would agree that they would love to see a fourth "X-Men" film, especially since "X-Men: The Last Stand" left so many questions unanswered, so many characters under-developed and so many stories unresolved. Thank you for your time and patience reading this petition.
